Happy New Year!

2023 is finally here!

We made it, and so did our kids. At the PTO, we are excited to welcome back the students and finish off the rest of the year without a hitch.

Spirit Store will open again on January 14th

Spirit Wear Store

The online Spirit Wear store will open again this Saturday, January 14th. The same items you know and love will be available for purchase. Just like last time, please reach out to us if you experience any issues with the store at webmaster@ilepto.org

As a reminder, when purchasing your items online, select the pick-up option “Send [orders] home with [your] kids”. Our Spirit Wear Committee will fulfill all orders on January 20th and send them home with your children. During checkout, we need your child’s Name, Grade level, and Teacher, so we can get your order to them in an orderly fashion.

Are you familiar with the Barrier Island Environmental Education Program?

Our neighbors on the Indian Lake peninsula, Ellis Middle School, is collaborating with the Barrier Island Environmental Education Program located in Seabrook Island, South Carolina to promote and provide students the opportunity to explore science in a hands-on way.

Students who participate will have an opportunity to explore local wildlife and habitats along the South Carolina coast, enjoy campfires and games, and create lasting memories with friends.

When: November 12-17, 2023
Where: Charleston, SC; Seabrook Island, SC
Cost: $900 estimated per student

There will be a meeting for interested parents at Ellis Middle School on January 17th at 6 PM in the Ellis cafe. A $200 deposit will be due on the evening of January 17.

STEAM Donations

In case you haven’t heard… Indian Lake Elementary school participates in the STEAM Education program. STEAM, very much like STEM, is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. A STEAM education helps prepare students for an ever-changing workforce, teaching them the core concepts in a single cohesive learning experience based on real-world application.
